6th grade:
Students will finish constructing and analyzing a predator and prey population graph.
Students will also study symbiotic relationships between species in an ecosystem.
7th grade:
Students will begin studying air pollution.

7th grade:
Students will begin studying air pollution.
6th grade:
Students will set up science experiments involving yeast and other decomposers. Yeast will be observed under the microscopes. Students will also begin a producer, consumer, and decomposer power point.
7th graders: Will continue various water pollution activities and labs. Students will also begin researching a particular water pollution issue of their choice.
6th grade:
Students will begin studying energy. We’ll be focussing on the difference between potential and kinetic energy, the law of conservation of energy, and the transfer of energy through a system. Homework will be assigned on Tuesday (review of the scientific method). It will be due on Friday.
7th grade:
Students will finish and present their power points on water pollution. We’ll begin studying the evidence for global warming.
6th graders: Students will finish their power points. Students will also conduct experiments following the scientific process.
7th graders: Students will learn how water is cleaned. Students will take a water pollution quiz. We’ll also begin our air pollution unit.
6th graders are working on two projects in class. One project is a review power point. Not only are students learning how to make a power point, they are also reviewing key concepts taught during the first semester. This is their final exam in this class.
The other project involves designing and conducting two science experiments following the scientific method. Students are working in groups on this project.
7th graders are busy designing watersheds and water pollution models. These should be done by Friday.
6th grade: Students are learning about wave erosion.
7th grade: Students are learning about air pollution. We went over drawings and watched a video.
The 6th graders are done with the MEAP!
7th graders are creating a power point on water pollution.
6th grade: We’re working on measuring skills. The kids completed station work today and will continue practicing tomorrow.
7th grade: Students are creating a watershed model.
6th grade: Kids should have their rock cycle worksheets finished.
Quiz tomorrow on igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks. Parent signature on study sheet due tomorrow.
7th grade: Kids made a model of a watershed.
6th: Mrs. Fichtner came in and talked about sexual harassment
7th: We followed the path of rivers in Michigan. Most
drain into the Great Lakes.
